Quando, em Neemias 2:18, o servo de Deus declarou que a mão de Deus tinha sido com ele, e compartilhou o que o rei lhe havia dito, o povo foi persuadido a exclamar: “Disponhamo nos e edifiquemos” (Ne 2:18). Eles não deviam temer o governo persa, e, ainda mais importante, precisavam se lembrar de que Deus estava com eles. Para mudar a situação, eles se dispuseram a fazer algo. Que essa demonstração de fé seja uma lição para nós. Remoer a miséria ou buscar desculpas não faz a situação mudar; ela muda somente por meio da ação. Neemias encorajou o povo a fazer algo, a agir e a mudar sua condição. O servo de Deus exortou os judeus a se apegarem a Deus com fé, porque o Senhor estava liderando essa expedição e iria levá la à conclusão. Portanto, quando os líderes dos inimigos foram a Neemias, zombando e rindo da tentativa do povo para construir o muro, o servo de Deus não ficou desencorajado. Ele respondeu: “O Deus dos Céus é quem nos dará bom êxito” (Ne 2:20). O governador não deixou que os inimigos vencessem porque não nutriu no coração os insultos deles. Em vez disso, o corajoso copeiro reclamou as promessas divinas e confiou no Seu poder.
