Community is essential in the Philippine culture, so when social distancing, isolation, and quarantine became regularly used practices, it was difficult for Hannah and Zuriel. As a doctor, Hannah was given the option to quarantine within the hospital for the safety of her family when she wasn’t working. But the married couple decided they needed to be together, and Zuriel became “a frontliner to the frontliner.” And when Zuriel’s grandfather passed away and he couldn’t be with extended family, Hannah was his emotional support. Through those difficult times, God provided the strength they needed to care for each other, as well as a deeper understanding of His grace.
