Em tom de lamentação, este Salmo retrata a angústia do povo de Deus diante da invasão dos inimigos. O santuário havia sido destruído e o povo levado cativo. O período que retrata bem este Salmo é quando Babilônia conquistou Jerusalém, assim como havia predito o profeta Jeremias. Negando a mensagem profética, os judeus rejeitaram o chamado de Deus e a Sua aliança: “Viraram Me as costas e não o rosto; ainda que Eu, começando de madrugada, os ensinava, eles não deram ouvidos, para receberem a advertência” (Jr.32:33). A reivindicação do salmista para com Deus foi, na verdade, um grito de misericórdia. O que vemos é o clamor de um homem que tinha fé no mesmo Deus que abriu o mar (v.12) e que secou os rios (v.15), guiando o Seu povo por caminhos seguros. Todavia, a desobediência às palavras do profeta de Deus fez com que o Senhor os entregasse à própria sorte: “Portanto, assim diz o Senhor: Eis que entrego esta cidade nas mãos dos caldeus, nas mãos de Nabucodonosor, rei da Babilônia, e ele a tomará” (Jr.32:28). A palavra profética nunca foi tão banalizada como atualmente. Milhares têm aberto a boca para declarar profecias falsas e aleatórias, quando a verdadeira profecia é negligenciada ou ignorada. Enquanto Jeremias clamava para que o povo desse ouvidos ao que Deus o havia revelado, mais obstinado o povo se tornava. Mas foi ali, em meio ao cativeiro babilônico, enquanto se dizia: “já não há profeta” (v.9), que Deus suscitou Daniel e lhe deu o dom profético e um livro que, em conjunto com o livro de Apocalipse, nos abre os olhos para o “até quando” (v.9). Na verdade, foi revelado aos filhos de Israel e de Judá até quando duraria aquele jugo: 70 anos (Jr.25:11). Nós não sabemos quanto tempo mais durará o cativeiro do pecado neste mundo, contudo, de uma coisa podemos ter certeza, os sinais nos mostram que cada dia é o tempo que nos é concedido para estarmos prontos: “Hoje, se ouvirdes a Sua voz, não endureçais o vosso coração” (Hb.3:15). Se tão somente seguirmos as orientações proféticas, seremos bem sucedidos: “Crede no Senhor, vosso Deus, e estareis seguros; crede nos Seus profetas e prosperareis” (2Cr.20:20). O Senhor nunca desconsiderou a aliança que havia feito com o Seu povo (v.20), mas o Seu povo que não Lhe deu ouvidos. Em sua dureza de coração, os judeus rejeitaram o profeta de Deus e trataram de eles mesmos profanarem a casa de Deus: “Antes, puseram as suas abominações na casa que se chama pelo Meu nome, para a profanarem” (Jr.32:34). Mas a aliança que o Senhor fez com os Seus filhos é eterna e jamais volta atrás: “Farei com eles aliança eterna, segundo a qual não deixarei de lhes fazer o bem; e porei o Meu temor no seu coração, para que nunca se apartem de Mim” (Jr.32:40). O Senhor breve virá! Persevere em estudar a Bíblia. Examine as Escrituras com diligência e humildade, cavando na mina sagrada a fim de encontrar os tesouros do caráter aprovado pelo Céu. Então, não terás do que lamentar, mas verás o Senhor pleitear a Sua própria causa (v.22) em favor do Seu povo: “Eles serão o Meu povo, e Eu serei o seu Deus” (Jr.32:38). Vigiemos e oremos!
